HOW TO CLEAN YOUR CHAINSHAW
Keeping your chainsaw clean is a big deal. It’s important because it will keep it humming, lasting longer, and will ensure your safety. That’s why the black ‘n’ red team is here to give you some pointers – let’s get to it.
The low-down on cleaning your chainsaw:
- Start by taking off the saw chain and guide bar.
- Check the oil tank – you want the oil level to drop as you work the chainsaw. If it’s not budging, there might be a blockage in the oil system. Time to get your backside to the repairs shop.
- Get rid of the gunk and grime from the oil outlet port and channel.
- Clean up the oil inlet hole and the bar groove, and for precision, use the GT85 red straw.
- For spotless results, bust out an air compressor to give the guide bar a thorough cleaning. It’ll blow away even the tiniest specks of dirt.
- Grab some GT85 to take care of those stubborn resin deposits – use an old rag to give it a rub.
- Always remember to check to see if the chain teeth need a good sharpening.
