Like any off-road beast, your quad bike deserves the VIP treatment.

The black ‘n’ red team’s got your back for top-notch maintenance and winter storage tips.

Get your quad bike game on point, read on.

Our best kept secrets:

  • Get it clean
Get yourself a pressure washer or a hose. Blast the grime away, use some soap, rinse it down, and remember the exhaust pipes too. Look out for any damage in the process and fix it up before you tuck it away.
  • Lube the chain
Cover an old rag in GT85 and rub down the chain to lube, clean and protect it. Make sure there’s enough tension too.
  • Oil change
Old oil is like a magnet for grime, so switch it out with some fresh stuff and the change filter while you’re at it. Use GT85 to clean away oil residue.
  • Fluid checks

Make sure your quad has enough coolant, find the radiator (or the coolant reservoir, if yours has one), check the levels, and top up it up if needed. Screw the cap back on and clean up with GT85.

  • Pump up the tyres
Check your tyre pressure, pump them up if necessary, and if you can, stick your quad on a stand to avoid flat spots.
  • Check the air filter
Give it a clean out with your favourite formula and check for wear and tear. You know the drill, spray it liberally on an old rag and give it some elbow grease to clean and protect it.
  • Inspect the battery
Whip out the battery, check it over for leaks or rust. If it’s in good nick, charge it up. If it’s leaking, get yourself a new battery; if it’s rusty, some GT85 can help, but always be careful when handling a dodgy battery. If in doubt, call in the professionals.
  • Grab a torch
Have a proper look around your quad – you want to make sure it’s pest free and looking good.
  • Stick your quad indoors
If you have the space, get your quad indoors and elevate it. Remember to move it every now and then to avoid flat tyres.
  • Cover your quad
If it’s braving it outside, get yourself a decent cover. You’ll want a heavy-duty, double-stitched, waterproof cover with an elastic hem. Something that’s breathable.
