Forget the winter blues and dive into car winter maintenance for the new year. Grab your favourite formula and follow our best kept secrets to show winter who’s boss.

  1. LUBE, CLEAN AND PROTECT METAL AND PLASTIC PARTS
    Scrub the exhaust clean and give the bolts a spray with GT85. Polish the number plates with a GT85-soaked rag and do the same along the window wipers – this will stop the frost in its tracks.
  2. CHECK FOR RUST ON THE BODY
    Oil the body of your car. Spray it with GT85 and buff it with a clean rag, it’ll provide your motor with a slick, invisible shield and protect it against rust and corrosion. Do it regularly.
  3. LUBE YOUR DOOR HINGES
    Wipe them down, give them a good spray and work in your GT85 formula. Wipe off the excess lube and your doors will be smooth and rust-free.
  4. PROTECT FUEL TANK FLAP AND FUEL CAP
    Road salt’s the silent enemy, and when left untreated, can corrode your fuel cap and mess with your fuel tank flap. So, give the hinges a squirt with GT85 to keep it swinging.
  5. LUBE AND PROTECT HOOD LATCH
    Give the hood latch mechanism a good spray. Then, using your red straw, force the lock ‘door’ open, and give the lock cylinder a quick spray.
  6. LUBE AND PROTECT LOCK CYLINDERS
    Give your lock cylinders a squirt of GT85 to stop them from freezing or becoming stiff. Use your key a few times to work it in.
  7. LUBE WINDOW TRACKS
    Give the tracks a good soaking with GT85. Lower the glass, and target the front, rear, and top channels with the spray. Pull the window up, clean up the overspray with an old rag and enjoy easy gliding. 
  8. KEEP THE SEAL TIGHT ON WEATHER STRIPPING
    Give the weather stripping a good spray, it’ll keep the seal tight. Keep it lubed, keep it sealed and draughts and moisture will remain on the right side of your ride. 
  9. CHECK YOUR OIL AND FILTERS
